The Forestport Chamber of Com-merce Community Charitable Fund (FCC-CCF) is proud to announce that the first recipient of the Computer Grant Program was given to a Town of Webb School student who is entering their senior year.
The FCC-CCF has been diligently working on the Computer Grant Program, which provides children of low-income families the ability to have their own computer. This is becoming a necessity for students who view and hand in homework through an online classroom.
To be eligible, the student must write an essay of 500 words or less on why they deserve a computer. The essay must be attached to the application available at forestportchamber.org.
The application must be signed to verify low-income status. All applications are considered confidential.
In order to provide this service to the community, the FCC-CCF is also asking the community for their help in part by donations.
Please donate your used computers (laptops, flat screen monitors, towers, keyboards, mice and peripherals) to this cause.
Computers are repaired and all personal information is removed before being given to a new owner. Please note, we cannot accept older monitors, printers, scanners or any other electronics.
Monetary donations are also being accepted to purchase parts to repair computers at P.O. Box 142, Forestport, NY 13338.
Please call the Chamber at (315) 793-7714 for more information on pickups and where to drop off donations or visit the website for more details.
Thank you for your support.
