Celebration of Life for Lisa (Baerman Stripp) Collin

Lisa J. Collin, 54, of Plattsburgh NY passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at her residence under the care of Hospice and surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Syracuse, NY, on October 7, 1960, the daughter of Richard J. and Jean M. (Bull) Baerman. Lisa graduated from the Town of Webb School in 1978.

Lisa worked as a massage therapist for Archer Bodyworks in Plattsburgh. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker, an artist and a lover of all outdoors. She loved to hike and was completely aware of everything surrounding her. Hiking seemed to stimulate her senses. Lisa was also a lover of all animals, and her animals followed her wherever she went.

Lisa enjoyed people and would never judge anyone. She found good in everyone she met and seemed incapable of speaking ill of anyone. Her greatest gift was her ability to make people laugh, regardless of her circumstances. She was a shining star in the life of all who loved her.

Lisa always said she was lucky in love twice in her life. Once, when she married Dan Stripp and raised two wonderful children with him. Secondly, when she met Mike Collin and shared 14 amazing years with him. Even though she had many more things she wanted to accomplish and experience in life, she considered herself blessed and fulfilled to have the life that she had.

Lisa’s greatest legacy was that she made everyone who knew her a better person for knowing her and therefore, the world a better place because she was in it.

Survivors include her husband, Michael H. Collin of Plattsburgh; her children, Tyler Stripp of Denver, CO, Jessica Mulrine of Collegeville, PA, step children Cali Ryan Collin of Worcester, MA, and Shelbi Collin of Plattsburgh; her mother, Jean Baerman of Saranac Lake, NY; two brothers, Larry and Lori Baerman of Cicero, NY, and Scott and Cindy Baerman of Lake Elmo, MN;  one grandchild, Evelyn Jean Mulrine; and several nieces and nephews. Lisa was predeceased by her father, Richard Baerman and her former mother-in-law, Lorraine Stripp.

A Celebration of Lisa’s Life will be held at her home, 24 Calbi Way Plattsburgh, at noon on Saturday, July 25. Donations in her memory may be made to Adirondack Wildlife Refuge, 977 Springfield Rd., Wilmington, NY  12997; and Elmore ASPCA, Inc., 556 Telegraph Rd., Peru, NY 12972.
