Summer can be such a fun time of year and our SHARP participants are taking full advantage of it.
Last week we visited Moose River Farms. I think the photos of our time there show what a great time we had.
Anne Phinney was a wonderful hostess. She gave us a tour around her farm and shared many interesting facts and insights about the animals and their care.
We started our tour by watching some young horseback riders go around the corral.
Then we got a chance to meet the animals and pet them.
Besides the horses, there were donkeys, goats, chickens and a large pig.
Among the many highlights, one of the horses gave massages and silly smiles and another was willing to shake your hand…for a treat, of course.
We would like to express a HUGE thanks to Anne and her wonderful crew for having us as their guests.
We are looking forward to Friday, July 24 and enjoying an evening with the symphony as the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra performs in Arrowhead Park in Inlet.
We are hoping for a warm, dry day next Wednesday, so we can go out for ice cream.
Then, we plan to show off our putting skills while playing miniature golf at Nutty Putty.
SHARP is a free program offered to all independent senior citizens from Woodgate to Raquette Lake.
We meet at Niccolls Memorial Church in Old Forge from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Wednesday.
Lunch during our regular Wednesday sessions is provided by the Community Health & Wellness Fund (formerly the Town of Webb Health Center Fund).
