Inlet Senior/Community Center thanks supporters

CAP-21 has just completed a successful campaign to raise funds for new carpeting for the Inlet Senior/Community Center located at the Inlet Town Hall.

A number of organizations contributed to replacing the old and frayed carpeting which was getting to the point of being a safety hazard for some of the users of the building.

The Center received support from and would like to thank the following organizations: the Adirondack Foundation, Inlet Barnstormers, the Young at Heart Seniors, the Inlet Area Business Association (IABA), the Town of Inlet and The Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties, and all the individuals who donated through the Adirondack Gives on-line campaign.

The Inlet Senior/Community Center is literally the center of social life for many individuals within the area, also drawing seniors from Raquette Lake, Eagle Bay, and Big Moose.

The Center is heavily used for school, church, private functions, community events and for major recreation related events such as the upcoming Black Fly Challenge.

The Town plans to arrange for installation as soon as scheduling allows.

The community grant writing program of CAP-21 receives sustaining support from the Town of Inlet, Town of Webb, and the Central Adirondack Association (CAA).
