Old Forge Memorial Day Committee says thanks for great weekend

The committee for the Old Forge Memorial Day Celebration would like to send out a big Thank You to all who helped make the weekend a resounding success!  

Special appreciation goes to the sponsors: Central Adirondack Association for the fireworks and the Family Fun Festival rides and games, Town of Webb for advertising and the Sunday night performance of the Fulton Chain Gang, Souvenir Village and Town of Webb for bringing Otto the SU mascot, Enchanted Forest Water Safari, Calypso’s Cove, Water’s Edge Inn, Old Forge Camping Resort for the shuttle bus and the Family Fun Festival, VIEW and MAC’s Safe Ride for the Saturday night ventriloquist performance, Hollister’s Trading Post, New York Conservation Officers Association for the Fishing Derby, Slickers Tavern, The Front Door Diner, The Back Door Bar, Mountainman  Outdoor Supply Company, Tony Harper’s Pizza and Clam Shack, Adirondack Scenic Railroad, Christy’s Motel, Clark’s Beach Motel, Community Bank, Mountain Greenery, Billy’s Italian Restaurant and Gallery 3040.

Thank you to all these non-profit organizations that helped to make the 1st Annual Family Fun Festival a success: CAP 21, Kinderwood, MAC’s Safe Ride, Kiwanis Club of Central Adirondacks, Northwoods Women’s Club, AYSO, Polar Bears, KYAC and the Tayler Schmid Fund.

Also to Daniel Roberts, Jon Lis, Romeo Leblanc, Mike Greene, Sandy Fetterman, Yvonne Mekkri for setting up and taking down the Family Fun Festival. Thank you Jack Marshall for picking up and taking back the rides and games.

A big Thank You goes out to DEC Officer Russ Ritzel and his son Rusty for their expertise and assistance with 1st Annual Memorial Day Fishing Derby. We couldn’t have done it without them.

A thank you to TJ Gonyea for driving the shuttle on Saturday.

A special thank you goes out to Sylvia Fletcher for her Ventastic Ventriloquist Show, held at VIEW on Saturday night. If you missed the show, you missed a lot. Rave reviews were given by all who attended. Thank you to VIEW and to MAC’s Safe Ride for sponsoring the event.

Overall the weekend went smoothly and was a great success. It couldn’t have happened without the hard work of the committee and of all who took part, in big ways or small. We appreciate it all!  Stay tuned for a bigger and better celebration next year!
