Library System starts online learning resource

Mid York Library System, which includes the Old Forge Library, recently launched a new database, Transparent Language Online, that offers Mid York patrons unlimited access to more than 90 online language courses with their public library cards.

The courses are packed with pronunciation, speech, grammar, writing and vocabulary-building lessons.

Library users have the ability to write or speak their answers, practice pronunciation by slowing down the on-screen examples, and converse with native speakers through interactive videos.

You can learn on your own time, at your own pace in the library, or on the go with the Transparent Language app for the iPhone and Android.

Mid York serves Herkimer, Madison, and Oneida counties.

For more information on how to access this service, see a library staff member at your local library or go to www.midyork.org.
