Letter to the Editor New shuttle bus result of dedication and hard work

To the Editor:

I was glad to see that the Town of Webb Board approved the funding for the shuttle buses at last week’s meeting.

Through no fault of Mike Farmer, Nick Rose or the Herkimer County Legislature—all of whom have been working very hard—the town’s share increased by $5,000.

I realize this is an unexpected expense, but things do come up once in awhile.

Yes, this shouldn’t become a habit and we all appreciate the fiscal responsibility of the Board.

With that said, I personally would like to thank Mike Farmer, Nick Rose, local legislator Patrick Russell and the Herkimer County Legislature for pursuing this project.

You never know if something is going to work if you don’t try, eg. the very successful grant writer position.

By the way, the busses are not only for the tourists, but also the “locals.”

I thank the Town of Webb Board and Central Adirondack Association (CAA) and hope this proves to be another successful venture.

Thank you,

Nick Bankert, Old Forge

P.S. – How about budgeting for a covered skating rink in next year’s budget?
