It is with excitement that I inform you of the awards Town of Webb Union Free School District art students have recently received at the 32nd Annual Tri-County Art Show at the Dulles State Office Building in Watertown, NY.
The Opening Reception for this show was held on Monday, May 11 and the show will conclude on May 19.
Throughout the year students have been creating impressive work in preparation of this show.
Teachers from each participating district are only permitted to submit 15 carefully selected works to this high-caliber, regional, and juried show.
Of the 15 artworks that TOW students submitted, four were awarded first place blue ribbons: Allyson Brosemer, Caroline DeFilipps, Megan Green, and Skyler Delano.
Congratulations especially to junior student, Ally Evans.
Her digital photography portfolio was one of only three accepted into the show this year. Her portfolio was awarded third place overall. This is a great accomplishment and a great note to end her art experience here at the Town of Webb.
Another very special congratulations to junior, Megan Greene.
She was awarded the Julie A. Bettinger Award. This award is presented to an artist whose work embodies Best in Show within the Ceramics medium.
My conversations with other participating teachers were very positive regarding our students’ work that was submitted to this show for the third time this year.
I look forward to submitting more work to shows of this inspiring level in the future.
I am incredibly proud of all my students and excited to see their artistic interest continually growing as I conclude my fifth year as the K-12 Art Teacher at Town of Webb Union Free School District.
Thank you, all brave and creative participants. Thank you, parents, for allowing your children to partake in this Art Exhibition and fostering the arts within your home. Thank you to the Webb Way for sponsoring our students’ participation.
Please keep in mind our 4th Annual Student Show at View will open Sunday, June 7 from 1 to 3 p.m. on Neighbor Day. We hope to see you then for a great collection of student artwork and refreshments.
