A group of 35 SkillsUSA students from H. G. Sackett Tech Center attended the New York State SkillsUSA Competition in Syracuse on Wednesday, April 22.
Among the students was Mary Roach, a junior at Town of Webb UFSD who is enrolled in the Veterinary Practices program at BOCES. She faced 19 competitors in the Customer Service category and received third place in the contest.
“Mary is constantly practicing and improving her customer service skills as she answers the phone and runs the grooming service desk. I am very proud of her as she is a junior and competed against both juniors and seniors during this competition,” said her instructor, Mrs. Blake L. Place.
