The Central Adirondacks Partnership for the 21st century (CAP-21) honored Fred and Carolyn Trimbach of Old Forge for their years of volunteer service to CAP-21 and the community, at a Tuesday, February 24th meeting at American Legion Post 893, in Old Forge.
“[The Trimbachs] have logged countless hours of volunteer work for all variety of organizations,” said Nick Rose, Executive Director of CAP-21.
Fred and his prodigious volunteerism pre-dates CAP-21, Rose said.
“He has coordinated the hanging basket program for sixteen seasons,” he said.
Both Fred and Carolyn were active in the Kiwanis Club of the Central Adirondacks and in supporting the Kommunity Youth Activities Center (KYAC).
Carolyn has been active in the Old Forge Community Health Center Fund, the Herkimer County Office for the Aging, and Herkimer County Health Department Planning.
They also have supported Community Transportation Services, which makes the local CTS van available, the Inlet Barnstormers Snowmobile Club, and Home Aide Service of the Central Adirondacks (HASCA).
“I probably I didn’t cover all of their services,” Rose admitted.
“They’re the kind of people any community would be thrilled to have living there. They give of themselves without question, and they’re always good citizens,” he concluded.
