Margaret was born on August 22, 1921 in Utica, to the late Albert and Anna Tjallama Pylman. In 1923 Margaret’s family moved to Chadwicks and it was then they started Pylman’s Home Bakery.

Margaret graduated from Chadwicks Union Free School. While attending school, she also worked in the family bakery. After graduating, she was employed at the Willowvale Bleachery and later at the Doeskin Sitrue Paper Company.

On February 20, 1943 Margaret married William Hinman in the Willowvale Methodist Church. This was a union filled with love and devotion until his death on April 21, 1990.

Margaret was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church where she also taught Sunday School. Margaret served as the President of the UMW for many years. She was the chairperson of many church dinners over the years, serving chicken and biscuits—her specialty.

Caring and devoted, Margaret volunteered at the Presbyterian Home for over 30 years. She also volunteered at Folts Home for many years.

She was a member of the Valley Stars 217, formerly Maple Valley Eastern Star, for 67 years. In May 2013, the Sauquoit Valley Lions Club presented Margaret with their Community Service Award in recognition of her many years of exceptional and devoted service to the community.

Mom loved being at her summer home, in Old Forge, where she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Sitting on the front deck at camp, watching all the activity around the lake brought her so much enjoyment.

During her summers in Old Forge, she found time to volunteer at many Old Forge Arts Center/VIEW events.

She loved her family and cherished her time with them. She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, William and Wanda Hinman and James and Barbara Hinman. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Charlotte Pylman; her grandchildren, Jill, James, William and Raymond and great grandchildren, Liam, Connor, James, Sara, Hanna, Emma, Tom, Samantha, Billy and Nate, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Marg will also be missed by her loyal and loving friends, Joyce Shephard and Dixie McGlin. She was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Harold; brother and sister-in-law; Hank and Elsie and brother, Dutch.

Special, heartfelt thanks to Dr. John Pylman and Dr. Kevin McCormick.
