Carter Lawrence, the sole Polar Bear Ski Club alpine athlete racing at the U18 level this year, has been a consistently strong competitor throughout the season and has qualified to compete at the Empire State Games in Lake Placid on Saturday and Sunday, February 7 and 8.
Lawrence earned the honor due to his placement in the following races:
January 3 and 4 at Whiteface Mountain – Slalom 13th, Giant Slalom 14th; January 10 and 11 at Labrador Mountain – Slalom (both days) 11th and 5th; January 24 at Hunt Hollow – Giant Slalom 11th; January 25 at Greek Peak 13th.
Also representing McCauley Mountain at the Empire State Games will be Mohawk Valley Ski Team members Mitchell Schweitzer and Cameron Brod.
