Adirondack Life magazine is currently soliciting business nominations for its annual Best of the Adirondacks feature that will appear in the June 2015 issue.
Readers can cast their votes on a number of categories including food and drinks, entertainment and recreation, shopping and lodging.
Voters must include the full names of the establishments and the towns where business is conducted within the Adirondack Park.
A voter can weigh-in on as many or as few categories as they choose, but can only vote once.
Voters must provide their name and email address.
Businesses in this part of the Adirondacks fared well in last year’s contest with Pedals and Petals cited as first runner-up in the Bike Shop category and Screamen Eagle as first runner-up for Pizza.
The Inlet Golf Club was also a first runner-up pick for Golf Courses.
The Eagle Bay Tavern’s Larry Burger was first runner-up in the Burger category, with Covewood Lodge and The Waldheim of Big Moose recognized as the top and first runner-up picks, respectively, in both the Lodging and Cottages categories.
The Strand Theatre of Old Forge took first runner-up for Cinemas.
But Town of Webb Publicity Director Mike Farmer feels strongly that our neck of the Adirondacks could have an even better showing in 2015 if folks take the time to nominate their favorites from the category list of 32.
“Take McCauley Mountain, for example, which is unmatched in many regards,” Farmer said.
“Not only does McCauley feature big-mountain skiing such as double black diamond bumps and glades, but also offers skilled beginners the rare opportunity to ski from the summit. And it is still producing many fine skiers who follow in the ski tracks of Olympians John “Louie” Ehrensbeck, a veteran of two U.S. Olympic teams, and Hank Kashiwa, who was also the World Professional Skiing Champion. Not even Whiteface can claim more than one Olympian raised on its slopes.”
Nominations can be made at: adirondacklifemag.com. Deadline is Januaryt 26, 2015.
