Community members of all ages gathered at the Old Forge Library on Friday, October 31 to enjoy treats and craft making at the annual Halloween Costume Contest and Party.
Prizes were awarded to those wearing the best costumes in the adult and children’s categories.
Taking first place in the ages six and under category was Darby Bick, portraying Merida from the movie, Brave; Jennifer Rundell, a pirate, won first place in the ages 7 to 11 category; and Jacob Bolton as Sherlock Holmes won in the ages 12 to 18 category.
Beverly Meeker, dressed as an artist, was the adult winner; and the group winner was Amy and John Rubyor and Josh Clark portraying characters from the Wild West.
Jens Bartel was the winner of the jelly bean contest.
Library Director Isabella Worthen said 65 attended the party, with 48 of them entering the costume contest.
