VIEW: Barbara Green to lead basket workshops

Barbara Green, of Adirondack Green House Basketry, will offer guidance and assistance to fellow basket weavers at an Open Weave Studio session at VIEW on Thursday, October 9 from 4 to 6 p.m.

The session is open to anyone who has an unfinished basket project and needs assistance, or is interested in working on a basket with other weavers.

It is free of charge, however registration is required. Participants will need to provide their own materials and tools.

Green will also lead a Pie Basket workshop on Saturday, October 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. She will instruct students on making a woven-handled basket that will nicely hold a 9.5-inch pie plate. Students will have a choice of accent colors.

The fee is $55/$45 member, with a $25 materials fee payable to the instructor.

On Monday, October 20 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Green will instruct a Bargello Pot workshop.

The class is suitable for weavers with some experience. This pot starts with a slotted oak base, employs a continuous weave of flat oval reed and round reed accents of three rod arrow to create the Bargello design.

The fee is $65/$55 member with a $25 materials fee payable to instructor.
