The Herkimer County Board of Elections has posted the unofficial results of the Tuesday, September 9 primary election.
Though the official results will not be available until all absentee ballots are received and counted on Tuesday, September 16, none of the races were so close that the outcome will change.
In the three-way race for the Republican nomination for Town of Webb Justice, Patrick J. Venetz was the winner with 107 votes having received 100 votes in Town of Webb District 1 and seven in District 2.
Candidate Anthony H. Tormey had 63 votes in District 1 and 24 in District 2 for a total of 87 votes. And incumbent James F. Miller tallied 67 votes in District 1 and six in District 2.
According to County Board of Elections personnel, 13 absentee ballots were sent out.
As of Thursday, September 11, eight of those have been received by the election board.
All three candidates have filed independent petitions and will be on the ballot in the November 4 general election.
In the Democratic race for the 49th State Senate seat, Patti Southworth was the county-wide winner with a total of 60 votes.
Madelyn Thorne received 54 votes.
Thorne was the state-wide winner of the race, however, and will face incumbent Republican Hugh Farley on November 4.
Thorne previously challenged Farley in the 2012 election.
Kathy C. Hochul was the county-wide winner in Democratic race for Lt. Governor with 388 votes to opponent Tim Wu’s 249 votes.
And in the Democratic Gubernatorial race, incumbent Andrew Cuomo received 331 votes, Zephyr R. Teachout had 305, and Randy Credico, 46.
Cuomo and Hochul were also the state-wide winners.
