Celebrated classical guitarist to perform at library

Classical guitar virtuoso Peter Fletcher will perform at the Old Forge Library on Tuesday August 12 at 7:30 p.m.

Fletcher, who is currently on a nationwide tour, will perform selections from his new CD: an all Edward Grieg album that includes guitar transcriptions that were written by he himself.

Fletcher began playing guitar at age seven and made his formal debut at age 15. He continued his  studies in Master Classes and has since been in demand as a performer in cultural venues throughout the country.

He made his New York debut at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in February 2007, and returned in 2008, 2009 and 2010 to completely sold-out houses.

A reception in Fletcher’s honor will follow the concert. CDs will be available for purchase and signing.

The concert is funded by New York State Council on the Arts: the Performing Program.
