Van Slyke to discuss 2014 Winter Olympic experience at Old Forge Library, Aug. 7th

Paul Van Slyke, of Lake Placid and Big Moose,  will give a power point presentation at the Old Forge Library on his experiences at the 2014 Winter Olympics on Thursday, August 7 at 7:30 p.m.

The program will include the alpine venue/courses, the Olympic facility and security, as well as a focus on the cultural experiences and people of Russia.

Van Slyke has been involved in Alpine Skiing for most of his life.

He has provided leadership for the United States Ski Association within its volunteer ranks for over 20 years in many positions, most notably as the USA’s Commissioner to the International Ski Federation internationally certified Alpine Officials.

In that capacity, he has been provided the opportunity to officiate throughout the world at numerous Alpine World Cup competitions and recently at the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi Russia.
