Volunteer fire fighters were recognized for outstanding service at the Town of Webb Fire District’s annual awards dinner held Saturday, May 10 at View, the arts center in Old Forge.
The fire district includes the Big Moose, Eagle Bay and Old Forge fire companies.
Big Moose Fire Chief Jason Pratt presented awards to Bob Van Slyke for his 20 years of service and Steve Baker for 15 years of service to the department.
Shane Beach, Eagle Bay Fire Chief, awarded 10-year service awards to Adelor Brigham and Ed Booton, and the Fire Fighter of the Year Award to Pete Widish.
Beach was presented the Chief Award by Assistant Chief Bill Morgan and Commissioner Pete Widish.
Old Forge Fire Chief Charlie Bogardus swore in his officers: EMS Captain Terry Lehnen; Rescue 1 Captain Jack Graham; Tower 409 Captain Pete Croneiser; Engine 2 & 3 1st Lt. Mike Hunkins; Rescue 5 2nd Lt. Trevor Tormey; Engine 5 3rd Lt. John Russell; and Rescue 2 4th Lt. Chris Stanley.
Receiving awards for 25 years of service to the Old Forge Department were Debbie Russell and Todd Brosemer.
Terry Lehnen, Linda Salin, Chris Stanley, Richard Risley, Annie Rundell, and Pete Ferris were honored with Chief Awards.
Peg Masters was presented the EMS Award, and the Fire Fighter of the Year Award was presented to Leo DeVincenzi.
Chief Bogardus also honored Kelly Hunkins with a bouquet of flowers for her help and dedication as his office secretary.
