Nick Rose, executive director of CAP-21, has arranged for four candidates for New York State’s 21st Congressional District to come to Old Forge on Tuesday, June 17 for a Town Hall Meeting to discuss their views on the future of the district with potential constituents.
The gathering will be held at View’s Gould Hall from 6 to 8 p.m. In attendance will be Republican candidates Matthew A. Doheny and Elise M. Stefanik, Democratic candidate Aaron Woolf, and Green Party candidate Matt Funiciello.
Rose said the meeting’s format will be reminiscent of past Meet the Candidates’ nights hosted by CAP-21 and the Central Adirondack Association, where written questions from constituents will be collected prior to entry to the venue.
Rose will serve as moderator.
The meeting will take place in the midst of three other events significant to Doheny and Stefanik who are seeking the Republican’s nod as candidate for the Congressional seat.
Both candidates have agreed to two debates that will be hosted by Time Warner Cable and WWNY in Watertown and their partners in public broadcasting including Mountain Lake PBS, North Country Public Radio and WPBS.
Tentative dates are Tuesday, May 27 for the Time Warner debate and Thursday, June 12 for the Watertown debate. The times of the debates have not yet been determined.
Doheny and Stefanik will face-off in the federal Republican primary on Tuesday, June 24th.
