Friends of the Old Forge Library say thanks for first 100 years

Friends of the Old Forge Library wish to thank all who participated in the Friends Library Luncheon celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Old Forge Library.

We particularly want to recognize the donation of the wonderful soups by DiOrio’s Supermarket, who also catered the delicious sandwiches. Trish Sehring did a fantastic job on the “Book Cake” which everyone enjoyed. We were fortunate to have many volunteers to help with the set-up, serving and clean-up.

We also can’t forget to thank our event committee and the Chair, Paula Weal and her husband, David, for all of their hard work in pulling it all together. We were pleased to have Library Board President Don Kelly, read the New York State Senate Resolution Commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the Library, which was sponsored by State Senator Hugh Farley.

Finally we want to say “Thank You” to Library Director, Isabella Worthen and the great library staff of Karen Lee, Beverly Meeker and Beth Pashley for making the Old Forge Library a welcoming and vibrant community asset.

The Friends organization is pleased to have been able to fund this year’s free event. It was our way of thanking the community that has been so supportive of our efforts over the years.

The Friends organization is always looking for more members to assist in our fund raising efforts on behalf of the Old Forge Library.

If you would like to be a Member of the Friends of Old Forge Library, Inc. please come to the library at noon on the first Tuesday of the month and join us. Membership is Free too!
