Phinney is a Town of Webb School elementary teacher who recently released her first book, Finding My Way to Moose River Farm: Living with Animals in the Adirondacks.

In the book, Phinney chronicles her and her husband Rod’s experience of operating their local Moose River Farm which they share with a variety of animals including horses, goats, dogs and a pig.

She also writes a blog on mooseriverfarms.com.

Members of the public are welcome to share and read from their own work or come and enjoy readings by others.

For planning purposes, anyone interested in participating at Open Mic Night is asked to call the library at (315) 369-6008 ahead of time.

An additional Open Mic Night is planned for May with Jeanne Selander Miller.

The readings are held to inspire writers and create opportunities for regional writers to meet.

The event is co-sponsored by Adirondack Center for Writing.
