Senator Seward welcomes association’s snowmobile message to the state capital

The New York State Snowmobile Association unveiled a special informational exhibit on the concourse level of the Empire State Plaza in Albany.

Among those welcoming the group was Senator James Seward.

“Snowmobiling is a terrific winter pastime and means a great deal to our local economy,” Seward said.

Seward noted that he has consistently supported local clubs and advocated for state funding to help with trail improvements and equipment purchases.

“Educating people about snowmobiling will increase the sport’s popularity and bring more riders to our 10,000 miles of trails,” he said.

Linda Rockwood from Mohawk Valley GIS in Herkimer was also hand for the opening of the display.

She demonstrated her company’s interactive snowmobile trail web map.

The display, which remained on exhibit through the month of January, was set up in partnership with the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles and the Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation.
