Niccolls Church offers programs for kids

Niccolls Memorial Presby-terian Church in Old Forge offers a variety of children’s programs during the school year.

Sunday School for children ages five through 12 meets during the 10 a.m. Sunday service. Boys and girls join the Sunday School teachers for a creative, interactive lesson using a new curriculum called, Holy Moly.

A Youth Group for students in grades seven through 12 meets on the first Sunday of each month for activities such as Faith and Film, to watch and discuss movies, and for hands-on activities, such as baking bread.

Niccolls Church also has two children’s choirs, one for singing and one for playing the hand bells. The choirs practice weekly on Music Mondays at the church, from 6 to 7:15 p.m. The singing choir is for children ages six to 12, and the hand bell choir is for children ages eight to 12. These choirs perform at the 10 a.m. Sunday service from time to time, before the children leave to attend Sunday School.

During Music Monday rehearsals, Niccolls also offers a discussion group for parents, if they wish to participate. The group sometimes studies a book together, or has discussion based on current topics and concerns relevant to education and parenting.

New families are always welcome and encouraged to participate in any of the programs. For more information, contact the church office at (315) 369-3475.
