Ad’k Landowners Assoc. sets winter meeting

The Adirondack Land-owners Association (ALA) will host its annual Winter Membership Meeting on Friday and Saturday, December 6 and 7 at the Adirondack League Club in Old Forge.

This year’s meeting will feature a presentation of the ALA Stewardship Award to the Common Ground Alliance. The ALA is recognizing the Common Ground Alliance for their outstanding contribution to the betterment of the Adirondack Park.

The Friday night activities will include a social reception, dinner, additional tributes and a live and silent auction. This will be followed by a members meeting on Saturday morning featuring a discussion panel with Common Ground Alliance representatives.

The ALA was founded to encourage continued stewardship and sound resource management of the land; to promote public awareness of the valuable role played by private landowners in the Park; to advocate laws, regulations and governmental policies that promote and facilitate good stewardship by private landowners and recognize and preserve their rights in the land.

The ALA represents approximately 3,500 members who collectively own almost 250,000 acres of private land in the Adirondacks.
