Forestport names ballfield in honor of Pete Scouten Jr.

We would like to say “THANK YOU” to Forestport Supervisor Bill Hasenauer for proposing to have the town dedicate and name the little ballfield across from the Catholic Church as the “Peter J. Scouten, Jr. Memorial Ballfield” and to the Town Board for accepting and approving that proposal.

The Scouten family has been a long-standing pillar in our communtiy and what a great way to honor not only Pete Jr. but his family. We all know that ballfields seem to make people put aside their differences and proudly come together to watch their children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews or just friends display their talent.

We look so forward to seeing this community pull together to honor Pete Jr. and to work in a positive way to showcase another great feature of our town.

Supervisor Hasenauer was right on the money when he said, “Our Youth is our Future!”
