CAP-21 seeking advance audience questions for Sept. candidate forum

CAP-21 will host a “Meet the Candidates” night for the Town of Webb on Wednesday, September 7 from 7 to 9 p.m. at VIEW, the new arts center in Old Forge.

The event offers residents an opportunity to ask questions on the candidate’s position on topics and issues of concern to our community.

The public is encouraged to arrive early and submit questions, or if preferred, to forward questions in advance by calling CAP-21 at (315) 369-3353 or emailing: info@cap-21.org.

The event will be facilitated by CAP-21 Board Member, Jack Mitchell, a long-time resident of Forestport and an individual with a lengthy record of public and community service.

All candidates will be given the opportunity for opening and closing statements, and the questions submitted by the public will be given to candidates in rotating order.

Candidates that have been invited and listed in alphabetical order are: Town of Webb Supervisor – David Berkstresser, H. Stuart deCamp, George Hiltebrant, Theodore Riehle, Richard Risley.

Town of Webb Councilman – Mary Brophy-Moore, James B. Herron Jr., Robert McCoy, Patrick Perkins.

Town Justice – Jack Graham, Patrick Venetz, and Herkimer County Legislature (Dist. 15): Jon Hansen and Patrick Russell.

CAP-21 does not endorse any of the candidates running for office. “Meet the Candidates” is being presented as a public service, in that CAP-21 believes that an informed and engaged public is the surest road to good government.
