Capt. Simpson gets new Marine Corps assignment

United States Marine Corps Captain Christopher W. Simpson, a highly decorated Infantry Officer, having served three combat tours in Iraq, has recently been assigned a new position in the Marine Corps. Captain Simpson will serve as Aide-de-Camp to the Commanding General of Marine Corps Recruiting Command, Major General Mark A. Brilakis.

Major General Brilakis is responsible for all recruiting operations across the United States. This includes two regions commanded by Brigadier Generals at the Marine Corps Recruiting Depots at Parris Island, SC and San Diego, CA.

Captain Simpson will be responsible for the preparation, management and timely execution of the daily schedule in order to ensure effective and efficient use of the General’s time and resources. In addition, he will be planning, coordinating and implementing all official travel arrangements for the General including air and ground transportation. Captain Simpson will also be responsible for communications, billeting, logistical support, country clearances, background reviews and protocol for social events/visits, while ensuring the timely and accurate completion of the General’s official travel agenda. Captain Simpson was guest speaker at this year’s Old Forge 2013 Memorial Day Ceremony and is the son of Kathy and Bill Simpson of Old Forge.
