The award was presented to Jim Connerty, Central Adirondack Club President, at a club recognition event held on Sunday, September 22 at North Woods Inn.

To qualify for distinguished club status a club must excel in service, leadership education, and growth.

The club president and secretary participate in the Club Leadership Education (CLE) training session prior to assuming office.

The Kiwanis club has a net membership gain by the end of the administrative year and maintains current membership.

The Kiwanis club that accumulates at least 100 points and has properly submitted its annual club report will earn distinguished recognition.

The club will receive a Distinguished Club banner patch and a distinguished lapel pin for the president and secretary.

Trimbach was recognized as Distinguished President for the 2011-12 year, Jim Connerty as Distinguished Vice President, Bob Van Slyke Distinguished Secretary and Bill Baumann as Distinguished Treasurer.

The Kiwanis Club of the Central Adirondacks is actively involved in activities supporting youth in the Central Adirondack community which covers the area from Woodgate to Raquette Lake.

“We are pleased to be recognized for the Central Adirondack Kiwanis programs that support the children of our community.

Without the support of the entire community the Kiwanis programs would not be possible,” Connerty said.
