Niccolls Memorial Church hosting Sunday, Sept. 1st Sabbath Walk

The community is invited to take a Sabbath Walk at Niccolls Church on Sunday, September 1 at noon in the church sanctuary.

The congregation of Niccolls Church has the practice on Friday mornings of setting off for a Sabbath Walk.

“This spiritual practice opens us up to walk prayerfully walk over this holy land with an open heart, mind, and soul,” says Pastor Lawrence Bartel.

Previous Sabbath Walk destinations have included Lock and Dam, Maple Ridge, Nicks Lake, as well as Bub and Sis Lakes.

For the final Sabbath Walk of 2013, Dr. Richard Shore invites all to share in the extraordinary adventure of John Muir’s life—from his Scottish boyhood to the 1,000 mile walk and beyond.

Dr. Shore has brought the legacy of John Muir alive for over 20 years and to more than 31,000 people across the United States. Born in the shadow of John Muir’s beloved Sierra Nevada, Dr. Shore now summers at his camp on Big Moose Lake.

Niccolls Memorial Presbyterian Church is located next to the Old Forge Library at 228 Crosby Blvd. This Sabbath Walk is free and open to the public.
