HASCA appoints new directors and officers at annual meeting

The Home Aide Service of the Central Adirondacks (HASCA) staff reports that they  are enjoying their sunny, new first floor, handicapped accessible office in the Town of Webb Health Center.

The staff, which includes Director Roberta Konecny and certified home care aides Diane Klastow, Betty Rannels, and Kathy Smith, said they are very grateful to Town of Webb officials for including the new office space into the recent renovation plans for the Health Center.

A new sign, made and donated by John Drexelius, will soon be mounted in the entrance way.

During the organization’s annual meeting on July 8, Barb Ball and Mary Anne Ransom were appointed to serve on the Board of Directors.

Also, the following officers were elected: President Nancy Venetz, Vice President Natalie Tickner, Secretary Peg Masters, and Treasurer George Hiltebrant.

For more than thirty years, HASCA’s certified aides have provided compassionate personal care, light housekeeping, laundry, grocery shopping, meal preparations, and other services to the elderly, disabled veterans, and chronically or terminally ill clients from Forestport to Raquette Lake.

In addition to enhancing the quality of life of homebound clients, HASCA also provides respite services for the caregivers of these individuals.

HASCA is a not-for-profit organization and its annual fund drive begins this month. Donations are tax-deductible and can be sent to HASCA, P.O. Box 25, Old Forge, NY 13420.
