Services planned for Louis C. Garbarino, 70

Louis C. Garbarino, 70, of Four Seasons Lane, Old Forge, husband of Anne S., passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Highland Hospital, Rochester, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Louis was born in Boonville on February 25, 1943, the son of John H. and Ola Salsburg Garbarino. He grew up on Erwin Street, graduating with the Class of 1961 from Boonville Central School.

He continued his education at the University of Notre Dame, and upon finishing graduate school attained his Masters Degree from the University of Toronto.

On October 28, 1967, Louis was united in marriage with Anne Sheehan at St. Joseph’s Church, Boonville. For a time Louis was a Professor at Bishop College of Dallas, TX.  He then began his career at the Mobil Oil Co. of Fairfax, VA, retiring from his senior management position of the IT Division in 2000.

Following retirement the couple settled in Old Forge, where they owned and operated Garbarino’s Four Seasons Cottages.

Louis had passion for the great outdoors, and loved the natural beauty of the Adirondack Mountains and his gardens.

He will be remembered as a “life-long learner,” and even through his illness he was still taking science and writing courses to expand his knowledge. He was also an avid golfer.

Besides his wife Anne, Louis is survived by his three children: his son John S. (Valbona) Garbarino, Bristow, VA; and daughters Maura Garbarino, Dallas, TX, and Rose Anne (David) Cuozzo, Los Angeles, CA; his four grandchildren: Danielle, Promise, Ronnie Anne, and Argjend; one sister, Mary Louise (Jack) Allaben of Port Orange, FL, and several cousins. He was predeceased by his parents.

A Service of Holy Eucharist will be celebrated on Saturday, August 10 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, Schuyler St. Boonville, where Rev. Linda Logan will officiate.
