First Friday Art Walk slated for July 5 on Main Street, Old Forge

The First Friday Art Walk in Old Forge on July 5 will feature 12 venues for art lovers to shop, eat, listen to music, meet artists and view demonstrations from 5 to 8 p.m.

First Friday Art Walks run through October and include a raffle for a unique item each month.

To enter, a participant can pick up a card at any First Friday location and have it stamped.

The card can be dropped off or carried to other First Friday locations for stamping.

The venues are:

View, 3273 State Route 28 – Nationally recognized center for fine art exhibitions, performances, and workshops for all ages. Enjoy Kaatskill Woodturners Associa-tion juried exhibition; “The Wilderness Within,” paintings by Holly Friesen; “Wild-Eyed: A Fresh Look at Adirondack Fauna” by Rosemary Conroy. Opening Reception from 5 to 7 p.m. for Gerda Wikander Retrospective: A Blessed Journey

Stick Candles, 3278 State Route 28 – Meet artist  Doug  Collum and watch him create unique candles. Music and light refreshments available.

Old Forge Library, 220 Crosby Blvd. – Opening Reception for: The Rome Art Association  “Mid Summer Show”  from 5 to 8 p.m.

Wrap City ‘N Glue (Deck), 3071 State Route 28 – Renowned local Artist R. C. Oster will be on the deck displaying his pen and pencil art of regional subjects

The Starving Artist Gallery 3071 State Route 28 –  Brittany Rae will demonstrate pottery carving

Five Corners Café, 3067 State Route 28 –  View the dog-themed photography of local artist Becky Barrett

Gallery 3040, 3040 State Route 28 –  Meet Cindy Panella, the gallery’s bet-selling creative ceramic artist. Live music by Jim and Bonnie Tracy. Also XOVIVO Jewelry Trunk Show from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Ozzie’s Coffee Bar, 3019 State Route 28 – Carving demonstrations by local Abenaki artist Andrée Dennis Newton.

Goodsell Museum, 2993 State Route 28 – Town of Webb historical museum with area treasures and local history. View a display of vintage canoes from Tickner’s Moose River Canoes. Canoe renovation demonstration, weather permitting.

Dragonfly Cottage & Vintage Marketplace, 2987 State Route 28 – Meet latest vendor, South Bay Jewelry artist Mary Blanchard of Raquette Lake. Wine reception from 5 to 8 p.m.

Patti’s Paper Crafts, 2987 State Route 28 – Stamping, scrapbook supplies and classes and original Adirondack themed rubber stamps. Located at Dragonfly Marketplace
