2d84b7a Tricia Zimic Work#1Tricia Zimic will be teaching a ceramic workshop at View on Monday through Wednesday, June 24 to 26, from 9:30-4pm. The workshop will include demonstrations, lectures and discussions of experience in addition to creative time for participants.

Zimic’s sculptures have been collected by The New Jersey State Museum where she’s had a solo show, as well as The Morris Museum and may private collectors internationally.

Her inspiration comes from her obsession with animals and her volunteer work as a forester at South Mountain Reservation in central New Jersey.

Zimic has a degree in Illustration from Parsons School of Design and has taken ceramic workshops in New York City, New Jersey and Italy.

Her passion for ceramics is celebrated in her love of sculpting animals.

From small birds to life-sized wolves, she sculpts using the solid clay method, adding and subtracting clay using wood, metal tools or found wood fragments to finish her work.

Zimic has public and private installations around the world including Paris, South Africa, Prague, New York and New Jersey.

The work includes mural installations and exhibitions in art museums, and has been incorporated in architectural details in residential environments. These unique, one-of-a-kind sculptures are glazed, hand-painted, jeweled or finished with gold leaf.

Her most recent work is a triptych narrative on our environmental impact which highlights the juxtaposition of native wild animals surviving in urban areas. This show was featured at View.

With her lifelong experience painting and sculpting animals, Zimic will help you to create the animal of your dreams. Come prepared with ideas, animal references and sketches from which you’ll work.

View will supply studio work space, water-based clay and tools. Bring to life in 3-D your inner animal or an animal you have seen lurking in your backyard!
