Students from grades 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7 wrote letters to veterans in The Tower’s at Laguna Woods Village in Southern California. The letters and cards were presented to the veterans in a “mail call” style and hand delivered some to the folks that couldn’t make it out to the celebration. The Fall Sports Awards and Winter Sports Awards will be combined into one night at the conclusion of the Winter Season. The date will be announced and put on the calendar soon.

The front column repairs are now complete. We don’t have a final bill as of yet but do anticipate the project coming in under budget.

The Commissioner has continued to solicit feedback on the Common Core Standards. State level meetings have been occurring both with her team and with the Governor’s Task Force.

We are expecting some changes to occur as a result of both of these groups, but to what extent we will have to wait and see.

The Town of Webb UFSD has received a waiver for the APPR meaning we will be operating under the old document while we work to negotiate a new plan.

From what we are hearing the large majority of districts in the state have submitted and been approved for waivers which makes complete sense with another round of expected changes to the law and requirements.

The next Board of Education meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 6:30 pm in the library of the school.
