The 7th Annual Kinderwood Golf Classic, the Kinder-wood Preschool’s biggest fundraiser of the year, was held Monday, August 3 at Thendara Golf Club.
The event included a day of golf, a post-play dinner at the Old Tom Morris Pub & Grill, a 50/50 raffle, a silent auction, a live auction and the raffle of a 18’ Bennington pontoon boat.

Kinderwood board member Page Hannah said she and fellow board members were greatly touched by the enthusiasm of the crowd who came out in great numbers to support the preschool with their generous contributions and bidding.
“There is a huge amount of support in our community for Kinderwood. They understand its social, emotional and academic foundation…which is more important than ever with the current changes in education,” she said.
Bids went high for a number of auction items.
Among them was an impromptu item—the clothes off the back of kilt-clad auctioneer Tim Foley—that was proposed by Tim Noonan.
A good-natured bidding war ensued.
Ron Hamlin of Remsen was the winner of the 50/50 raffle and was quick to donate his winnings back to Kinderwood.
Proceeds of the event support student scholarships and operational expenses.
Kinderwood offers instruction for three, four and five year olds, which includes time spent in the classroom at VIEW, and outdoors as well.
“There are many unique opportunities for Kinderwood students. They ski, snowshoe, hike, go horseback riding, enjoy the natural attributes of the area… and with classes at VIEW, they have constant exposure to art,” Hannah said.
