One Square Mile of Hope 2014 will be holding a Silent Auction and a Chinese Raffle during the event at Arrowhead Park on Saturday, September 13th.
Bidders can currently check out the list of 30 items available in the Silent Auction at OneSquareMileofhope.org.
Among the auction items are three handcrafted quilts, a bird carving by local artist Andrée Dennis Newton, a one-week stay for four at a Hilton Head condo, a Yakima 66” trailer, an Elie Strait 120 kayak donated by Frisky Otter Tours, framed photographs, and paddle-related merchandise.
Another unique item is a commemorative One Square Mile of Hope brooch, designed and handcrafted by artist Ken Thibado of The Lights are On Design Studio of Old Forge.
The silver paddle-shaped brooch features a pink sapphire, and wood inlay by local guitar builder Alex Hunkins.
The highest bidders will have until Monday, September 15, to claim their merchandise from the Inlet Information Office.
If not collected by then, they will go to the next highest bidder.
Organizers strongly recommend that items be picked up and paid for the day of the event.
Over 100 items have been donated for the Chinese Raffle.
The list includes gift certificates, prints, posters, jewelry, pillows, cookbooks, a cherry bench with OSM logo, snowmobile helmet, kayak table runner, embroidered hoodies, and a Hope/Cancer bead and kayak charm donated by Allen’s Fine Jewelry of Old Forge.
Additionally, Allen’s has offered to donate 10 percent of the sale of any Hope/Cancer bead or kayak charm made between September 10 and 17 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Tickets for the Chinese Raffle will be $1 each or 25 for $20.
Ticket sales will end and the drawing will begin at 3 p.m.the day of the event.
Prizes must be claimed when all the tickets are drawn. Winners must show their ticket to claim their prize.
At 3:45 p.m., another winner will be drawn if an item has not been claimed.
