To the Editor:
I am mad as hell about the state this once proud nation is in; and frustrated beyond comprehension because there is little anyone can do about it.
Specifically, we have reached a critical point in time where vast numbers of politicians have renounced the use of reason in defending and outlining their goals.
More importantly, many mindless voters are too stupid to make them prove their points.
Said politicians and the left are far from being stupid, however, and have taken steps to insure voters never become smart enough to do so.
It’s the “dumbing down of America,” and is being carried out by various state sponsored educational systems.
The poor in this nation have voted Democratic for decades and are still poor.
The ten cities leading the nation in poverty have never had anything but Democratic administrations since their establishment. How’s that for misplaced trust?
What makes me angrier still is my own stupidity. I was too stupid to discover the Republican party I once trusted has come around to operating the same way.
Both major parties pontificate on how they are going to, as Trump says, “make America great again,” often advocating for opposing means.
Yet the Republicans, while controlling both houses of Congress, lifted not a finger to curb the Obama administration’s high-handed executive actions, waste, fraud, or failed immigration and foreign policies.
Why is that; could it be they are working in concert?
Both major parties have allowed us to become second-class citizens in our own country. What other nation gives illegal aliens priority status over its citizens in civil rights and most other matters?
There is only one demonstrable reason for such a policy in the present situation, and that is recent Immigrants traditionally support Democrats.
The question is why does the Republican’s majority Congress (both houses) allow it to happen?
We watch the media blather about voters’ priorities with immigration showing far down the list.
How can that be when a totally heretofore unknown candidate has taken over the national stage with his tough stance on illegals?
It is not because he is a racist, mean spirited, cruel, or anything else one wants to label him. It simply is because unfettered immigration will lead to the end of the nation we all once loved and defended, and more importantly its sovereignty.
I am very skeptical of the intelligence, patriotism, motives or sincerity of anyone who denies that truth.
It is sad that someone did not put forth the fact in a more statesman-like premise than Donald Trump did.
His only fault, if one can call it that, is that he is too honest when it comes to speaking to the problems spawned from the doctrine of political correctness. A doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media when it has outrun its course.
It has come to a sad state of affairs when people cannot speak, write or tell the truth without being labeled something they are far from being because the accusers have no other avenue other than personal attacks to defend their arguments.
William F. Buckley remarked that “liberals claim to want to give a hearing to other views, but then are shocked and offended to discover that there are other views.”
Their answer in countering other views is to label them as hate speech and engage in disorderly conduct to prevent them from being given.
The basic reason the world is in strained straits is lack of honesty. In this country today we have a corrupt government that rivals any of those seen in third world nations.
The only thing difference is we have the means to change ours, if we only had enough intelligent, honest people to do it.
