The summer is going by so quickly that I can’t believe it’s almost August! SHARP (Senior Health Activities & Recreation Program) seniors were very busy during July and look forward to the many activities planned next month which will carry the theme, Secret Pal.
On Wednesday, August 5, Kathy Queen will be instructing yoga and we will be planning our future events and games.
Kathy Fox, director of Herkimer County Office for the Aging, will visit us on August 12.
We will also play a game of Corn Hole. Bring an elephant gift for your secret pal.
We’re going to a lakeside picnic on August 19 so all should meet at Niccolls Church at 10 a.m. to car pool.
Bring a small note describing the positive qualities of your secret pal. (Raindate is August 26th.)
Aloha! Join us for a Hawaiian Luau on August 26. Secret pals will be revealed and we will have some Q & A sit-together time.
SHARP is a free program offered to all independent senior citizens from Woodgate to Raquette Lake.
We meet at Niccolls Memorial Church in Old Forge from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Wednesday.
Lunch during our regular Wednesday sessions is provided by the Community Health & Wellness Fund (formerly the Town of Webb Health Center Fund).
