Assemblyman Butler hires staffer to serve northern constituents

Assemblyman Marc W. Butler (R,C,I-Newport) announced Thursday that Nancy Martin of Waddington has joined his staff as his St. Lawrence County and North Country representative.

Martin will represent the assemblyman at local meetings and events, help arrange scheduling, handle constituent issues and advise Butler on the many issues facing the county.

“Re-districting dramatically changed my assembly district two years ago; it now encompasses all or parts of five counties throughout upstate and northern New York,” Butler said. “I firmly believe that residents would rather deal with another person, rather than answering machines or faxes. Nancy will be our go-to person in St. Lawrence, which will result in better contact and better service.”

Butler already operates and staffs two district offices—one in Herkimer and one in Johnstown.

Martin is the former chair of the St. Lawrence County Republican Committee.

Martin lives in Waddington with her husband, Roger, a second generation dairy farmer.
