Eagle Bay beautification topic of October 12th meeting

The All-Girl Cocktail Party held at the home of Deb and John Barry of Eagle Bay on Sunday, August 25, raised a lot of money for the Kirsty Sutherland Culinary Scholarship and Eagle Bay beautification projects.

According to Deb, $500 has already been donated to the scholarship fund, with another $500 set aside for the planting of an adult evergreen tree, in Sutherland’s memory, at the site of the new Eagle Bay Welcome Center.

Deb said a tremendous amount of interest in making aesthetic improvements to Eagle Bay has evolved since the event. And due to the interest, she and John will host an upcoming meeting to gather ideas on how to further enhance the small village.

The meeting will be held at the Eagle Bay Fire Hall on Saturday, October 12 from 9 to 10 a.m. and all are welcome to attend.

While there are still some remaining funds from the cocktail party ear-marked for Eagle Bay projects, Deb said they welcome suggestions of other types of fundraisers to support the initiative.
