The 4th Annual Old Forge Triathlon drew 149 individual triathletes and 13 relay teams of runners, bikers and swimmers to the area on Sunday, August 16.
Athletes were to complete a four-mile run, an 18.5-mile bike course, and a 1,000 meter swim, however the swimming event was cancelled due to heavy fog.
Among the local participants were The Underdogs, a relay team that included biker Terry Murray, runner Kathy Rivet, and shut-out swimmer Erica Murray. Continue reading

The Fourth Annual Old Forge Triathlon, an intermediate distance triathlon featuring a 1,000m swim, 22-mile bike, and a four-mile run, will be held Sunday, August 16.
The race, presented by Enchanted Forest Water Safari, will begin from Lakeview Ave., along the Old Forge lakefront, with the last wave of participants leaving at 8 a.m. Continue reading
The Central Adirondack Association (CAA) invites all children to bring their fathers and their favorite frog to the Annual Father’s Day Frog Jumping Contest in Old Forge on Sunday, June 21.
The fun will start at noon at the Old Forge lakefront tennis courts. Awards will be given out to the winners in the following categories: fastest frog, heaviest frog, lightest frog and longest jump.
Local businesses can enter a frog for a chance to have their name added to the traveling trophy.
And don’t forget to have dad wear his ugliest tie as the crowd will determine who walks away with the 2015 Ugliest Tie Award.

The Adirondack Paddlefest layout will change in 2015, when the event is held in Old Forge from Thursday, May 14 through Sunday, May 17, which will make the traditional closing of Lakeview Avenue unnecessary, according to event host John Nemjo of Mountainman Outdoor Supply Company. Continue reading
All are invited to bring a folding chair and blanket and enjoy a free concert at the Old Forge Lakefront on Sunday, August 24 at 7 p.m. featuring Swamp Drivers.
Swamp Drivers are four professional musicians with Redneck ingenuity that make high energy music with unique instruments like no other band in the USA.
The concert is free of charge and part of the Summer Concert Series sponsored by the Town of Webb.
The Sunday Summer Concert Series held at the Old Forge Lakefront will feature The Double Barrel Blues Band on July 27 at 7 p.m.
The Double Barrel Blues Band is a modern blues group known for their aggressive guitar and authentic blues sounds.
Everyone is welcome to bring along their own chair and blanket and enjoy the free concert.
