SHARP: Seniors’ April roster blooming with springy activities

by Linda Heistman

The Senior Health, Activity and Rec-reation Program (SHARP) participants are looking forward to our program calendar for April. All area seniors are welcome to join us for any or all of our Wednesday activities.

On April 6th, we will be letting our artistic juices flow with a painting class at VIEW, the arts center in Old Forge. This will be our first spring outing.

Come enjoy some springtime activities and upcoming event planning with us on April 13th.

We always have fun when the Kindergarten class comes to visit. They will come on April 20th, so get ready to let out your inner child.

On April 27th, we will enjoy an education day at the Old Forge Library. Everyone will have the choice of learning computer skills, playing computer games, reading books or other materials or just sitting in the comfortable chairs enjoying a change of scenery.

In addition to our planned activities, we also offer exercises, pitch and other games each week.

SHARP is a free program offered to all independent senior citizens from Woodgate to Raquette Lake. We meet at Niccolls Memorial Church in Old Forge from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Wednesday. Lunch during our regular Wednesday sessions is provided by the Community Health & Wellness Fund (formerly the Town of Webb Health Center Fund.)

For more information, call or text (315) 225-7553, or email activitiescoordinator4seniors@yahoo.com.  Check our Facebook page anytime for updates. Search: SHARP
