Bob Philipson of Old Forge and New Hartford won the 2011 gross title in the Monday Men’s League championship held at the Inlet Golf Club on September 1.
Philipson shot a 35 in a nine-hole playoff, defeating Dr. Alan Bennett of Raquette Lake.
It is Philipson’s fourth consecutive Monday League championship title at the Inlet club.
In the net division held on Monday, August 25, Terry Ritz edged out Bob Heneka in a closely contested match that went down to the last hole of their nine-hole playoff.
Ritz won by two strokes.
At the Inlet Golf Club’s end of the season four-man scramble held Monday, August 29, the team of Dave Long, Tim Dowling, Steve Thomas and Dick Lasher took first place honors with a score of 67.
Coming in second place with a score of 68 was the team of Tim Hitchcock, Ed Murphy, Harvey York and Fred Button.
Finishing in third place, also shooting a 68 (determined by comparing cards) was the team of Rodger Pape, Dave Kelsey, Steve Young and John Nicholson.
The day was capped off with a dinner and awards presentation held at Mulligan’s Restaurant.
