Webb parking restrictions take effect Dec. 1st

Town of Webb Police Chief Ron Johnston would like to remind residents and visitors that all night parking restrictions will be in effect from December 1 through May 1, 2016.

Parking is restricted on town, county and state roadways from 2 to 6 a.m. to allow for snow plowing and removal.

Parking is also restricted in front of the Town of Webb School and on the south side of Park Ave., adjacent to Maple Ridge.

Town of Webb: DEC mitigates acid rain effects, reintroducing brook trout

As part a collaborative effort to mitigate the impact of acid rain and restore brook trout to the Adirondacks, state helicopters delivered 80 tons of lime to an acidified pond in the Five Ponds Wilderness Area in the Town of Webb, according to New York State Department of Environ-mental Conservation (DEC) Regional Director Judy Drabicki.

Approximately 40 DEC staff and New York State Police helicopter crews conducted the liming operation on March 10, 12 and 13, she said.  Continue reading

An open letter from the Webb Town Board

To Senator Farley, Congressman Butler and
others:

The Town of Webb Town Board and the communities that it represents would like to express our concerns on the disrepair of State Route 28.

Route 28 is the only road through this area. We feel that it is unacceptable for many reasons.

Those of us that travel the road daily, our vehicles are beat to death over the unavoidable pot holes and uneven blacktop spots…unacceptable. Continue reading
