Nordic Girls: Old Forge varsity team wins Queensbury Invitational
The Queensbury Nordic Invitational was held on Saturday, January 16 at the Gore Mountain Ski Bowl in North Creek, with the Old Forge boys and girls skiers racing impressively.
The competition was also a Junior Nationals qualifier for U18 and U16 boys and girls.
The Old Forge Girls Varsity Team won their 4.5K team event, powering to first with 13 points.
Queensbury finished second with 19 points, and Shenen-dehowa came in third with 41. Continue reading
Webb students raise money for children’s charities

The Town of Webb school’s third grade class raised over $500 with a coin drive within the school for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Ronald Mcdonald House charities.
They started collecting in early, December 2015.
The coins were counted on Tuesday, January 13th and had a total of $513 dollars, according to Webb’s third grade teacher, Gayle Ritz. Continue reading

Approved the Minutes of the December 1, 2015 meeting.
Approved the Warrants and Claims.

Part 3: Webb school talk centers on understanding our youths

The Town of Webb School hosted Michael Nerney, a consultant on Substance Abuse Prevention and Education, for a recent community awareness talk centered on young adult issues.
As described previously in this series, brain function issues and and today’s social media lifestyle can cause stresses that lead to depression and sometimes suicide.
Suicide is the second leading cause of death in ages fifteen to thirty-four. In ages ten to fourteen, suicide is the third leading cause, said Nerney. Continue reading
Webb varsity boys open season with home win against Dolgeville

Playing to a full crowd in their home gymnasium, the Town of Webb boys varsity basketball team started their season with a victory against Dolgeville on Wednesday, December 2.
This was the team’s first win in three years.
The final score was 71-37, Webb having outscored their opponent 40-15 in the second half. Continue reading
