View’s fourth annual Stems and Steins wine, beer, and food festival took place at two separate venues over the weekend of Friday and Saturday, September 20 and 21st.

Over 100 people attended the beer and hard cider tastings that were available at the Old Forge Fire Hall on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m.
Representatives from Ithaca Brewery, Cortland Beer Company, Founders and Adirondack Brewery were on-hand to offer samples of their brews. Also, Utica’s Matt’s Brewing Co. featured beers under their Saranac, Lake Placid, and Utica Club labels. Continue reading
The 2nd Annual Stems & Steins Festival held Saturday and Sunday, September 24 at 25 at the North Street Pavilion was presented by View and sponsored by Pride of New York and the Adirondack Scenic Railroad.
Twenty-seven vendors from around the state—including 15 wineries, Matt’s Brewery craft beers, and a variety of vendors with New York State food products—took part in the event.
Among the local vendors was Matteson’s Market of White Lake. Owner Jim Matteson said he had a great couple of days, selling out of many of his baked goods. Continue reading
Bill Brooker, owner of Brooker’s True Value Lumber and Hardware in Old Forge, has donated a guideboat print by nationally-known watercolor artist JC Parker for a fundraising raffle for View, the new arts center in Old Forge.
The framed print will be on display at this weekend’s Stems & Steins Festival at the George T. Hiltebrant Recreation Center on North Street. Tickets will be available for sale during the event for $1 each or six for $5.
Proceeds of the raffle will benefit the general operating fund of View
View will present the 2nd Annual Stems & Steins Festival, a wine, beer and food event, at the George T. Hiltebrant Recreation Center and Pavilion on Saturday and Sunday, September 24 and 25.
The festival will take place on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
The event celebrates New York State entrepreneurs and their products, and is sponsored by Pride of New York and the Adirondack Scenic Railroad. Continue reading
