39th annual Snodeo: Great event despite unseasonably high temperatures

The Central Adirondack Association would like to thank all the visitors who traveled from near and far to attend the 39th annual Snodeo event.

Despite the lack of snow, Snodeo was a big success thanks to all your support.

By purchasing merchandise or a raffle ticket you are supporting not only Snodeo but a list of other CAA events that happen throughout the year including Old Forge’s Winter Carnival, St. Paddy’s Day Parade, ADK Christmas on Main Street and many, many others.  Continue reading →

Snodeo Weekend to Kick Off: Snowmobile Shoot-Out returning to Inlet race venue; first time since 1997

The 26th annual Shoot Out, a snowmobile event that features out-of-the-box racing trials and testing of sleds from the four major snowmobile manufacturers, will return to Inlet on Friday, December 11 following a 17-year hiatus.

The event, sponsored by American Snowmobiler Magazine and Dynotech Research was co-founded by Jim Czekala, Tom Smith and the late George Taylor in 1990 and was held on a farmer’s field in South Trenton. Continue reading →

Area events are made possible and successful through volunteer efforts

To the Editor:

Well, it looks as if another season is about to take the checkered flag. Not sure how everyone did this winter business-wise, but in terms of winter sports, it seemed that it was pretty good…which leads me to the reason for this article.

I feel that the residents of the Town of Webb and Inlet are very fortunate. We have many great things going on in our communities. I am understanding of those who aren’t directly related to or care to participate in some of those things that are taking place. That’s okay.  Continue reading →

Snodeo & Shootout return to ideal conditions

Much to the delight of the organizers of Snodeo ’14, approximately 18-inches of fresh snow fell in time to be enjoyed by the hundreds of snowmobile enthusiasts who came to the area to enjoy a weekend that included a showcase of 2015 sleds, a vintage snowmobile show, youth races, parties hosted by sled manufacturers, fireworks and raffles.

The American Legion members of Post 893 would like to thank all who supported and purchased raffle tickets for our Wounded Warrior Program over Snodeo weekend. All proceeds will be used to bring five families from Fort Drum to Old Forge with an all-expense paid weekend in June.  Continue reading →

The 38th Annual Snodeo will take place at the George T. Hiltebrant Recreation Center on North Street this weekend, December 12, 13 and 14.
