On Saturday, November 21, 2015, an informative and supportive lung cancer vigil was held in the Inlet Town Hall. Adele Burnett, whose father died of lung cancer, and myself, whose brother also died of lung cancer, organized the small gathering which was one of hundreds held around the United States and a few in foreign countries.

The welcoming vigil was followed by a blessing of those in attendance by Rev. Lawrence Bartel of Niccolls Memorial Presbyterian Church.   Continue reading →

The Town of Inlet will host a “Shine a Light on Lung Cancer” vigil at the Town Hall for the third year on Thursday, November 13 at 7 p.m.

This is the date selected for the myriad of vigils held throughout the U.S.and in many other countries.

In the past the vigil has honored friends and relatives from the Old Forge and Inlet area who have succumbed to the disease.

Those remembered in the past two vigils will once again be mentioned during the
