Raffle of snowmobile artwork to benefit View

Bill Brooker, owner of Brooker’s True Value Lumber and Hardware in Old Forge, has donated a print of a snowmobile by nationally known watercolor artist JC Parker for a fundraising raffle for View, the new arts center in Old Forge.

The framed print is currently on display at View where it will be raffled at the end of the snowmobile season.

Tickets can be purchased at View for $1 each or six for $5.

They will also available for sale throughout the day at the Bazaar.

Proceeds of the raffle will benefit the general operating fund of View.

Snowshoe print raffle to benefit View

Bill Brooker, owner of Brooker’s True Value Lumber and Hardware in Old Forge, has donated a snowshoe print by nationally-known watercolor artist JC Parker for a fundraising raffle for View, the new arts center in Old Forge.

The framed print is currently on display at View where it will be raffled at the end of the Holiday Bazaar on Sunday, November 13.

Tickets can be purchased at View for $1 each or six for $5. They will also available for sale throughout the day at the Bazaar.

Proceeds of the raffle will benefit the general operating fund of View.

Framed Print Prize: Raffle tickets available at Stems & Steins Fest

Bill Brooker, owner of Brooker’s True Value Lumber and Hardware in Old Forge, has donated a guideboat print by nationally-known watercolor artist JC Parker for a fundraising raffle for View, the new arts center in Old Forge.

The framed print will be on display at this weekend’s Stems & Steins Festival at the George T. Hiltebrant Recreation Center on North Street. Tickets will be available for sale during the event for $1 each or six for $5.

Ann Capron wins GMC truck in Otter Lake Fire Dept. raffle

Ann Capron of Old Forge was the winner of a 2011 GMC pickup truck, the grand prize in the Otter Lake Fire Co. Inc.’s annual fundraising raffle. The raffle was conducted at the fire station on Sunday, September 4.

Second prize winner of $200 was Norb Bankert of Remsen; and third prize winner of $100 was Cornelius Cheerschap of West Milford, NJ and Otter Lake.

“On behalf of the Otter Lake Fire Company and Auxiliary, I would like to thank the many businesses and individuals for their continued support of our annual fundraiser,” said Fire Chief Daniel Abrial.

Frankfort man wins the Dodge Challenger in CAA raffle

The annual Labor Day celebration at the Old Forge Lakefront on Sunday, September 4 included live music by the Paul Case Band, fireworks, and the announcement of the winners of the Central Adirondack Association’s annual fundraising raffle.

Lloyd Schafer watercolor raffle to benefit the Old Forge Library

Linda and Sarah Cohen of Old Forge have donated an original Lloyd Schafer watercolor to the Old Forge Library for a fundraising raffle.

The painting is on display in the library wing. Chances are available at the library and are $20 each. Only 100 tickets will be sold.

The drawing will take place when all of the tickets are sold.

Schafer was a well known area artist who painted and sold hundreds of watercolor paintings and art works.

Following his retirement as a design engineer at Remington Arms of Ilion, he opened an art studio at Singing Waters outside of Old Forge.

Schafer, who passed away in 2008, was also known for contributing his talent to benefit community projects and organizations.

For many years he donated his paintings for raffles to benefit the library. He was also an active member of the Arts Guild of Old Forge.

September 18 kayak raffle to benefit Town of Webb Historical Association

The Goodsell Museum is currently selling raffle tickets for a Swift Adirondack 12LT kayak with a carbon paddle and life vest.

The 12’ kayak weighs only 24 lbs. and is made of lightweight black Carbon/Kevlar Fusion.

It is valued at $3,000 and is currently on display at the museum located at 2993 State Route 28 in Old Forge.

Tickets are $5 each and available at the Goodsell Museum, the Old Forge Hardware, Rivett’s Boat Marine, and Over the Moon Hair Salon in Old Forge.

Tickets can also be purchased at Otter Lake Station and Adirondack Groceries in Otter Lake. All proceeds will benefit the Town of Webb Historical Association.

The drawing will be held Sunday, September 18 at the Old Forge Fire Hall during the fire department’s Big Bucks Give-Away Drawing.
